Gullah Geechee Trail Feasibility Study




The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO) is partnering with the North Carolina Department of Transportation Integrated Mobility Division (NCDOT IMD) to conduct a feasibility study for the Gullah Geechee Trail in Brunswick County. The purpose of this study is provide a recommended alternative for the corridor.

The limits of the feasibility study are from Phoenix Park in Navassa to Brunswick Nature Park on the south end, for a total length of approximately 14 miles. Key routes along the corridor are Cedar Hill Road, Navassa Road, Village Road, and NC 133/River Road. The greenway is part of a larger planned series of greenways, trails, parks, and historical sites extending from Jacksonville, North Carolina to Jacksonville, Florida.
