Public Involvement

Public invovlement is a key component of the Gambell Street Redevelopment project, as we strive to identify improvements to the corridor that are consistent with local businesses, residents, and community members' vision for the corridor. There are multiple forums available for the public to provide their input, outlined below:

Project Charette (May 21st-23rd): three days of workshops and focused meetings devoted to developing preferred improvements for the corridor. Virtual Open House (June 14th-21st): online tool to learn about the project and provide input on the improvements being considered for the corridor.

In-Person Open House (June 18th): in-person workshop to learn about the improvements being considered for the corridor and provide feedback.

News Release #1:

The Fairview Business Association and the project team would like to invite you to a three day project charette at the Fairview Community Recreation Center on May 21st, 22nd, and 23rd for the Gambell Street Redevelopment Project. The Project will identify and evaluate improvements that will enhance the Gambell Street corridor’s efficiency, appearance, and pedestrian and business friendliness. The Kickoff meeting is on Tuesday, May 21st from noon to 1:30 pm with Alternative Development Sessions following at 1:30 pm and 5:30 pm. These sessions will allow the public, business owners, and property owners to help identify issues within the project corridor, share ideas with the project team, and take an active role in the future of Gambell Street. On Wednesday, May 22nd, drop by the Fairview Community Recreation Center between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm to visit with the team or come in at 3:00 pm for a focus discussion on the Gambell Street and 15th Avenue intersection. The Identification of Most Promising Alternatives will take place Thursday, May 23rd from 5:00 to 8:30 pm, where with your help, the team will review the initial alternatives, refine, then select the most promising alternative. Please plan on attending and making your voice heard about the future of Gambell Street.
